DIAPERS VS. POTTY TRAINING UNDERWEAR
Potty training underwear isn't a replacement for diapers. It's a different tool for a different stage.

HOW UNDÉ POTTY TRAINING UNDERWEAR WORKS
UNDÉ Potty Training Underwear is designed to help children notice wetness, recognize when they need to go, and take small steps toward potty independence, while giving them a more underwear-like experience.
The outer layer is made from pure cotton and designed to feel soft and comfortable against the skin.
Layers 1–6 are cotton gauze, creating a soft inner structure while allowing children to notice when they are wet.
Layer 7 is an absorbent fabric made with terry cloth laminated with TPU, designed to absorb small amounts of urine.
Layer 8 is cotton cloth, completing the layered construction of the underwear.
Designed to absorb approximately 35–40 ml of urine and help reduce wetness on clothing and surrounding surfaces.
The widened crotch is specially designed to provide a larger absorbent area for small amounts of urine.
POTTY TRAINING, TOGETHER
Potty training is a gradual process. Children learn to recognise their body’s signals, practise getting to the toilet in time and slowly become more independent. Accidents can still happen along the way and that is a normal part of learning.
Learning to notice the feeling of needing to go.
Getting used to underwear, toilet routines and making it to the toilet in time.
Missed signals and small accidents can still happen while new skills are developing.
Little by little, children learn to recognise, respond and manage more on their own.
There is no perfect timeline. Every small step is part of the journey.
DID YOU KNOW?
Children don't always recognise the feeling of needing to go before potty training begins. Sometimes, that awareness develops as they experience the difference between dry and wet and begin to connect it with what their body is telling them.
That’s where potty training underwear can become part of the learning process. It gives children the opportunity to experience wetness while wearing something that feels more like real underwear. Helping them notice, connect and gradually learn.
No perfect timeline. Just small moments of learning.
Real-life experiences with potty training at home.
“We noticed that our little one became more aware of wetness. After an accident, the damp feeling helped us talk about what had happened and gently encourage the next trip to the potty.”

“We love that our child can practise wearing real underwear while learning to get dressed independently. It also makes the transition from nappy to underwear easier than practising with a bare bottom first and introducing underwear later.”

“The fabric feels soft and stretchy, making the training pants comfortable to wear. We like that they help our little one get used to wearing real underwear during potty training. They can absorb some moisture, but accidents may still require a change of clothes.”

Everything you need to know about UNDÉ training pants: what they do and do not catch, which size to choose and how to care for them.
A training pant sits in between. It wears like regular underwear but has a few absorbent layers and a water-resistant layer in the gusset. A small accident is caught, while your child still feels wet. That is exactly what helps them learn the difference between dry and wet.
The gusset is wider and a little thicker than in regular underwear, and forms a kind of cup. A small wee stays there for a moment, giving the layers time to absorb it. The pants also sit higher in the waist. So they look a little different, but your child can still pull them up and down just as easily.
It is not a nappy: it will not hold a full wee.
A small accident, such as a few drops or a small wee. That gives you just enough time to get to the toilet or potty, and often keeps the floor and sofa dry.
With a full wee, the pants may leak, especially at the sides. How much a pair catches also depends on your child and on how often it has been washed.
Choose the size based on your child's clothing size and the size chart on this page.
The pants are deliberately high in the waist and a little roomier around the waist and hips. This way they do not press on the tummy and catch an accident better. As a result, they look different from regular underwear.
Do not size up to grow into them: pants that are too big do not fit closely around the legs and may slide down. Not sure? Email us before opening a bag and we will help you choose.
A washed pair air dries and is usually ready again the next day. So the number you need mainly depends on how many accidents you expect in a day.
Practising a few hours a day, or does your child usually have no more than one or two accidents a day? Then 3 pairs are enough. Leaving out the nappy all day, expecting several accidents a day at first, or does your child also go to daycare? Then 6 pairs are more practical.
There is no set age. Many parents start when their child shows interest in the toilet, lets them know the nappy is wet or dirty, or stays dry for longer periods. Every child goes at their own pace.
You can also use the pants to get used to them gradually, for example a few hours a day at home.
They work best when you are nearby, such as at home or on short outings. Remind your child regularly to use the toilet, for example after meals or before going out.
An accident? Change the pants and calmly name what happened: "You are wet, wee goes in the potty." This helps your child link the feeling to the toilet, without making it a big deal.
Yes, that is what they are made for. The soft, stretchy waistband gives, so your child can pull the pants up and down by themselves. That helps them go to the toilet independently. Do choose the right size: pants that are too tight are harder.
The pants work the same at night as during the day: they catch a small wee. But a wee during sleep is usually a full wee, and the pants will not hold that. At night you also won't notice it straight away.
That's why we don't recommend them for the night yet. Use a nappy or night pant until your child usually stays dry at night.
The outer fabric and the inner layer against the skin are 100% cotton. The absorbent layer is polyester, with a water-resistant TPU layer. The waistband is polyester and elastodiene (natural rubber).
The waistband therefore contains natural rubber latex. If your child is allergic to latex, these pants are not suitable.
After an accident, briefly rinse the pants in cold water. Then wash by hand or in the machine at max. 30 °C: inside out, in a laundry bag, on a delicates programme (on some machines Wool or Hand wash) and with a low spin speed.
Use a liquid colour detergent, no bleach or fabric softener, and do not soak for long. Hang them up straight away to air dry. No tumble dryer and no ironing. You will find all tips under Wash + care.
For hygiene reasons, each pair comes in a sealed bag. Through the transparent bag you can see the print and size before opening it.
You can return unopened pairs within 14 days of receipt via "Withdraw from purchase" at the bottom of the site. Return costs are at your own expense. Once the seal is broken, we can no longer take the pants back. If you return part of a bundle, the bundle discount no longer applies to the pairs you keep. Read more in our return policy.
